General Community Management (GCM) Industries has started the construction of a 0.64Mta cement plant on a 7ha plot in the industrial zone of Kossodo, Burkina Faso. Cimburkina, part of HeidelbergCement, inaugurated its second grinding unit on 18 June at its Kossodo plant in Ouagadougou, under the patronage of Prime Minister Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré and Burkina Faso’s Head of State, Mogho Naba Baongo. Cimburkina lays first stone of second Kossodo mill

HeidelbergCement-owned Cimburkina has officially laid the first stone of its second mill at its Kossodo plant in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on 1 February. The 150tph mill will lift capacity at the site to 2Mta and represents an investment of XOF15bn (US$28.5m). The project will also see the construction of a 2000t silo and a new bagging line.

Intercem performed an express-delivery of a replacement transformer for Cimfaso in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Work is now well underway in Burkina Faso on a greenfield 6500tpd grinding plant for CIMASSO. The contract for the construction of the plant was signed in March by Kanis International of Burkina Faso and Intercem of Germany.
